Easy set up but the supplied cable was only a power cable. Without a data cable I couldn’t get it to sink up with car play.

I love how Apple made it possible to transfer the data from the iPhone 12 to the iPhone 17 Pro Max worked out very well. I was using a power strip USB to charge the iPhone 12 and the battery swelled up and pushed the front glass off of the phone. So far I'm very happy with the iPhone 17 and want to play with the added feathers that it has. Thanks MJ

iPhone 17 Pro MaxWhat condition grades are available for a refurbished iPhone 17 Pro Max on RefurbLane? questions, answered

The iPhone 17 Pro Max delivers up to 39 hours of video playback, the best battery life Apple has ever put in an iPhone, and up to 35 hours of streamed video. Real-world use lands around 15.5 hours of web browsing and 25.5 hours of video. It also charges to 50% in just 20 minutes with a 40W adapter or higher. Curious how it stacks up? See our guide to which iPhone has the best battery life.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max features a triple 48MP camera system across the Fusion Main, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto lenses. Here's what that means in practice:
8x optical zoom: the longest ever on any iPhone, with a 200mm equivalent focal length and a 16x total optical-quality zoom range
18MP Center Stage front camera: upgraded from 12MP on the previous generation
ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock: pro video tools Apple describes as smartphone firsts
Dual capture

capability: shoot with two cameras simultaneously

The A19 Pro packs a 6-core CPU, a 6-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, and a 16-core Neural Engine, plus a first-for-iPhone Apple N1 chip powering Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. In day-to-day use, that translates to up to 40% better sustained performance vs. the A18 Pro, with an integrated vapor chamber keeping things cool under real-world load. It runs Apple Intelligence features natively on-device and supports storage up to 2TB. Not sure which model fits your needs? Our guide to which iPhone is right for you can help.

It genuinely is, and the numbers back it up. According to an ADEME study, choosing a refurbished smartphone over a new one generates 92% less greenhouse gas emissions (77 kg CO2e avoided per device), 89% less e-waste (178g avoided), and 91% less resource use (243 kg of raw materials avoided). You're getting the same iPhone 17 Pro Max specs and performance. The environmental difference is anything but small.

Who is this for?

The iPhone 17 Pro Max suits creators, mobile videographers, and professionals who want a large 6.9-inch canvas, top-tier performance, and advanced camera/video controls. If you prefer a smaller phone with the same A19 Pro chip and triple 48MP system, the iPhone 17 Pro offers a similar experience in a more compact 6.3-inch body. Gamers and power users will appreciate the 120Hz display and hardware‑accelerated ray tracing, while commuters and travelers benefit from Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and precise dual‑frequency GPS.

Pros & Cons: Pros Cons Large, bright 120Hz OLED (up to 3000 nits) ideal for editing, gaming, and media. Big and heavy form factor; less comfortable for one‑handed use. 48MP triple‑camera with 4x optical telephoto and up to 8x optical‑quality reach; flexible focal lengths. eSIM only; no physical SIM support, which may require carrier eSIM compatibility. Pro video toolkit (ProRes RAW, Log 2, genlock, Dual Capture) for advanced workflows. No expandable storage; consider cloud or external workflows if you shoot a lot of Pro content. Modern connectivity with Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, USB‑C (USB 3), and UWB for accessories and data. Advanced camera features have a learning curve; casual users may not need every pro option. Durable build with Ceramic Shield front and back; IP68 protection.
