HTC Desire EYE • Locked Verizon

The HTC Desire EYE is a smartphone that launched in 2014, designed with a focus on selfie photography. Despite being several years old, it offers features that were innovative at the time, particularly its front-facing camera capabilities.

Key features:

• Release Date: October 2014
• Display: 5.2-inch IPS LCD, Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels)
• Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 801
• Camera: 13MP front and rear cameras with dual LED flash
• Operating System: Ships with Android 4.4.4 KitKat, upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow
• Connectivity: 4G LTE compatible (carrier dependent)

Who is this for?

The HTC Desire EYE suits users who prioritize front-facing camera quality for selfies and video calls. It can appeal to social media enthusiasts or casual photographers who appreciate balanced front and rear camera performance. However, its older processor and software mean it’s better suited for basic smartphone tasks rather than demanding apps or games. Users looking for the latest Android features or long-term software support might consider newer models.

Pros & Cons: Pros Cons High-resolution front camera with dual LED flash for selfies. Outdated software with limited update support. Full HD display suitable for media consumption. Performance may lag with modern apps due to older Snapdragon 801 chipset. Balanced dual-camera setup front and rear. Locked to Verizon, limiting carrier flexibility.
